Old West Coffee Traders started with a dream and the love for coffee (and yes, Western culture). In the early Spring of 2025, I thought about starting my own private label brand of coffee and decided it would be best to create a name for this here endeavor first, so I thought up "Old West Coffee Traders" and I wish I could say the rest was history, but I can't. Starting a business is hard, even an online business, and I had no idea what I was doing. I started with doing research via them YouTube videos, and absorbed a lot of useful information. Meanwhile, when I wasn't doing research, I was creating the front label image, three different versions for each of the coffee blends I wanted to offer (with more varieties on the horizon). Then I began sending the many emails to the local coffee roasters to inquire if they were willing to form a partnership with a clueless coffee-nerd wanting to start a business. Of those roaster businesses, some were welcoming and gracious enough to grant me phone interviews to listen to my proposals, while a few were, well... not welcoming or gracious (I guess they were not impressed by my home-printed business cards). Eventually, I did form a partnership with a coffee roaster business in Orlando and I'm thankful for the advice, help and support they provided while I was getting things off the ground. If I learned anything from this experience, it's that starting a business takes a lot of work, but I refused to throw in the towel, because I know down the road, the rewards will be worth it.
